I’ve been away more than normal because I am….

PREGNANT!

Our due date in January 15th, so I’m still really early, but we did have our first ultrasound and saw the gummy bear and the heartbeat on the screen.  We’re over our initial shock now and just trying to keep everything down and stay rested.

I have a new blog coming soon, had it designed and everything, so it should be really coolio.  In the meantime, if you could just say a little prayer for us when you think of it, we’d really appreciate it.

I didn’t take it obviously, my friend rachel did and she did a great job.  I think it sums me up nicely.  Slightly goofy, with a twist of serious

I’ve got big changes to the blog happening over the next few months, including a fancy-schmancy new logo which I’m so excited about.

Anyway, please excuse the dust in advance.

Just a quick note to let you all know that grandma is now dancing with Jesus. She passed away peacefully and at home. The funeral will be sad for those of us left on Earth, but also a time of rejoicing for we know we will see her again. Thank you all for your lovely thoughts and sentiments.

I made William turn the car around so I could take a picture. I actually think they are cute as far as lawn ornaments go.

It’s time you all meet my muse.  This is Daisy Mae, my Blythe doll.

I have the most amazing network of fellow photographer friends that all went in and bought her, along with tons of accessories for me.  I never imagined getting to own one of these, but have LOVED looking at others who had one and how she photographs so well.  It’s all about the photos and the amazing clothes and accessories out there for her, wow-wee!  Thank you again to all who made her possible, I’m so enjoying being a kid again.

I love living where I do.  There are so many interesting nooks and crannies to take advantage of.  There’s something for just about every kind of photo shoot and person.  This particular pic was taken behind a used bookstore in downtown Manitou Springs.  Isn’t that crazy?  It just fitted the mood so well and we stumbled upon it quite by accident.  

I’ve been so crazy-busy with editing weddings recently that I’ve not been posting as often on the ol’ blog.  I promise to be better about  posting next week (MOM!)

Until I can get a Tilt/Shift lens, I just fake it in photoshop.

It’s killing me not to be able to get to these shots, but I am sooooo behind in my editing that I just have to force myself not to look for too long.  But I can assure you that you will want to run and get some tempura paint and try it for yourself.  The most fun/creative I’ve felt in quite some time and it was not even my idea or vision.
